The Muppet Christmas Carol

130 King St.

This window's display was inspired by the 1992 Jim Henson studios musical, The Muppet Christmas Carol. The film was adapted from the 1843 Charles Dickens novella A Christmas Carol.

From the history of this residence: This was the home of the Honorable Charles D. Martin (1829-1911). He was admitted to the bar in 1850 at age 21. Elected to the U.S. Congress in 1858, he took his seat at 29 and was believed to be the youngest man ever chosen for the position by that time from Ohio. Charles died in 1911, his wife in 1929 and his son in 1930. His daughter Mary Jane Martin, never married, and became a pianist. She continued to live at this address until her death in 1957 at 82. Her sister Anna L. Martin died in 1967 at 91.
