Fairfield County District Library
219 N. Broad St.

This window's display is inspired by the 1816 Prussian fairy tale "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" by E. T. A. Hoffmann. In 1844 the story was revised by French writer Alexandre Dumas in The Nutcracker, which subsequently became a ballet in 1849 by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreographers Lev Ivanov and Marius Petipa.

From the history of this location: The library houses artifacts from the old Effinger house that was torn down in the 1920s. Some of the artifacts include a mantel and the home's original front door which is also the current entrance to the library's history room.
